Brittany earned a B.A. in English with Honors from the Florida State University College of Arts and Sciences in 2009. While enrolled, she was a news reporter for the campus newspaper, The FSView. She was also a poetry and design editor for the undergraduate literary magazine, The Kudzu Review, and a contributing staff member to the graduate literary magazine, The Southeast Review.
After graduation, Brittany spent six months in Costa Rica to became certified as an ESOL teacher and to immerse herself in another culture. She also strengthened her Spanish language skills and worked as a substitute teacher for Blue Ocean, a local elementary school.
Since her return to the states, Brittany has continued to focus on her passion for helping and mentoring students as an instructor and private tutor. Her amicable, patient, and targeted teaching style enables her to connect with her students personally while motivating them to reach their potential on standardized tests and in class. She has helped numerous high school students raise their scores on the SAT, ACT, and TOEFL and has helped students strengthen skills and become more college ready in all levels of English Literature and Composition, Algebra I and II, and Geometry.
