What happens if a program is cancelled?
If a program session is cancelled due to low enrollment, participants will be notified in advance. A refund will be applied to your account or, if participant decides, a credit can be applied towards the next available session. In the case that the program is cancelled, it is advisable that you purchase travel/trip insurance protection to cover for the flight portion of your travel plans.
Where is the service program located?
In Cartagena, Colombia, located in the northern part of the country by the Caribbean sea.
Cartagena has developed its urban area, preserving the historic center and becoming one of the most important ports of Colombia, as well a famous tourist destination.
Where are we staying?
We are staying in “The Sonesta Hotel” Which is located in La Boquilla, close to the historic downtown and 10 minutes away from Rafael Nuñez International Airport.

What are the accommodations like?
The Sonesta is a beautiful hotel equipped with 118 rooms. Each student will share room with another student.
All rooms include: a balcony, LCD TV with cable, Individual climate control, telephone, 24 hours room service (Each student is responsible for any additional charge), high speed internet and hairdryer.
Is there supervision in the rooms?
Staff and faculty members will stay in the same floor as residential supervisors.
Are there opportunities to do laundry?
Yes, Sonesta Hotel has Laundry Services and can be used by students with an additional charge.
How does my child get from the airport to the Hotel and to other places?
A member of JCT4Education will be waiting for each student at the airport.
Vans will be back and forth from Sonesta Hotel and Rafael Nuñez International Airport.
During the program we will have transportation all the time and all students will be accompanied by a JCT4Education member.
Who can I contact to make sure my child has arrived safely or for any emergency?
When students arrive to Rafael Nuñuez Airport we will contact parents and let them know their child has arrived safety.

May I bring my cellphone to Cartagena Service program?
This is up to you. Each student is responsible for their personal belongings.
Will I have Access to the internet?
Yes, Sonesta Hotel have free access to wifi. During the service activities we don’t guarantee wifi.
What is Cartagena’s weather like?
Cartagena’s weather is tropical (warm and humidity).
Do I need to bring additional pocket money?
We suggest bringing pocket money: $200 USD.
Everything is included, but student will have the opportunity to shop in the city if they want to.
If the student is a Colombian citizen not currently living in Colombia, what are the emigration requirements?
Make sure both parents fill out a notarized form that authorizes the student to leave Colombia on their way back home.
What if the student has a special diet or medical condition?
Each parent will fill out a form stating any special dietary and /or medical needs.
Does the tuition include any kind of insurance?
Yes, JCT4Education will have a travel insurance.
