Scored 2300 on SAT (2005-2015) practice exam.

As a college academic development expert, Mindi has helped her past college essay students gain admission to top colleges including Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Duke, Georgetown, University of Southern California, and all of the University of California campuses.

With over a decade of experience in standardized test prep, she has also trained and managed teams of both classroom and professional tutors nationwide. She joined JCT as an instructor for its inaugural SAT Bootcamp in Colombia in 2016. Beyond testing, she specializes in academic subject coaching in English/Reading Comprehension, French, Algebra I & II, and Geometry.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UC Berkeley, Mindi is passionate about helping students find their unique voice in college admissions essays. Under her compassionate guidance, she empowers students to use mindfulness and growth mindset techniques to discover the “selves” behind the image they want to present to admissions teams — encouraging confidence, exploration, and positive risk-taking.  By assisting them in accomplishing things they haven’t been able to do on their own, she aids students in discovering powerful connections between different parts of their lives through their writing.

One of Mindi’s students had her essay featured on the website of Johns Hopkins University as a Class of 2018 “Essay that Worked” – an example for future undergraduate applicants. She looks forward to assisting JCT students in making ALL of their essays not just work, but shine!
